Beginnings
Like anything worth pursuing, your yoga practice will unfold in good time. Just as you wouldn't expect to learn a language or a musical instrument in one day, you shouldn't come to your first yoga class thinking you'll master it all at once. So try to stay open minded, and don't worry about trying to get everything right in your first class.
At Down Dog we understand how important it is to offer a yoga practice that feels accessible and exciting for almost everyone that walks through our doors. Over the past several years we have worked with people from all walks of life. We know what it takes to help make you feel comfortable enough to want to continue coming back. You will see that even after your first few classes, you will start to notice big changes in how your body looks and feels if you stick with it. After a few months of practicing consistently, you will feel stronger, more flexible, confident, and much more relaxed. But it all starts with the first class! So now that you've taken the first step, all you have to do is show up. And, remember, have fun and breathe!
“I've tried studios that are closer or more convenient, but none provide the yoga experience that Down Dog does,” said Sandra Dennis, who has been a regular student since shortly after the studio opened. “Each teacher is wonderful in his or her own unique way, and the community is warm and friendly; beginners and serious yogis mix and there is a sense of fun and lightness. I always leave feeling both invigorated and relaxed. It feels like coming home.”
