Frequently
Asked Questions

Please Remember:

  • Practice space is device free – No exceptions (muted smart watches are permitted).

  • Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! – It’s important to be hydrated long before your class starts.

  • Do your best to stay in the room – Child’s Pose or Savasana are always on offer.

  • Stay for the entire class – It matters (and Savasana is arguably the best part).

  • Ask questions – If we don’t know the answer, we’ll find it out.

  • Children 12 years and older are welcome to attend class.

Kids Age 13-15 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

  • We take all major cards except American Express.

We do not accept gift cards as a form of payment (except our own).

  • A mat, towel and water.

*Please note: New students are required to show a valid form of government issued photo I.D. to the front desk when you arrive for your first class.

Don’t have a mat yet? Don’t sweat it, we have one for you to rent for $5.

Hot power yoga is a sweaty adventure, and the more you sweat the more slippery your mat will get. So bring a towel with you, or rent one of ours for $5.

We have fountains for you to fill up your own water bottle or we sell a variety of drinks at both locations. All belongings will go in our cubbies so we recommend bringing only your essentials.

No cell phones are permitted in the studios.

  • To ensure the safety and security of our community we request everyone be on time to class as we lock our doors immediately at the start of each session.

Time integrity is very important to us so we empower our team to get you in, set up and out on time as we know you live busy lives.

Please book classes with this in mind, knowing that if you cannot make it on time to a preregistered class, you will not be able to enter.

  • For your first visit, please arrive at least 15 minutes early.

This will give you ample time to register at the front desk, fill out a new-student waiver, and become better acquainted with our teachers, staff, and our studio.

It’s always a good idea to arrive early for class so that you can sign in, say hi to your friends, and get settled on your mat and be ready to roll!

  • When class reservations hit the max the waitlist automatically starts. The system will automatically move you from the waitlist into the class if a spot opens up. We recommended opting into text messages so that you will know when that happens.

To receive text notifications when you’ve been moved off the waitlist & into class we must have your cell phone # on file. Text START to 1-202-417-3445 to opt in to text notifications.

Any student that has not checked in 5 minutes prior to the start of class may forfeit their spot if a class has sold out.

  • Down Dog Yoga members with our monthly auto-renew package can pause their membership up to 2 times per calendar year when they will be absent for 30 days or more.

  • Wear comfortable, breathable clothing that you don’t mind sweating in!

You may want to bring a change of clothing for after class.

  • We heat our studios to 95 degrees.

This is a fun, sweaty practice.

The temperature of the room, the humidity, combined with the physical intensity of the practice will cause you to sweat.

    Make sure to stay hydrated!

  • Join the Club! So were we when we took our first class. Don’t worry about it. Accept where you are, and just get started.

The hardest part is getting onto your mat for the first time.

Beginners are welcome in any of our classes and we will give you modifications to support you.

You don’t have to be super bendy to do this practice and we will help you build strength and flexibility at a pace that suits you!

  • We request any cancellations be made as soon as possible.

Any student that has not checked in 5 minutes prior to the start of class may forfeit their spot if a class has sold out.

If you were charged for a class you didn’t attend due to unforeseen circumstances, please email info@downdogyoga.com
